Sex
and the City Movie May Be Back On
OK!
magazine reports that HBO
and Sarah Jessica Parker,
Kristin Davis,
Kim Cattrall and
Cynthia Nixon are
in "Substantial talks"
about a movie version of "Sex and the City."
There has been on and off discussion about the film since the series ended
a six-year run in 2004, but at least two of the original stars had committed
themselves to other projects. A studio insider informed OK! that each of
the four actresses is now available for the movie, saying: "Obviously,
there is still a lot to be worked out contractually, but it would be amazing
to get this project off the ground."

The
Amateur
Hugh
Jackman's Seed
Productions has signed with Fox
2000 to remake "The
Amateur." The 1981 film was based on the Robert
Littell novel. Jackman is producing and will star as a CIA cryptographer
whose fiancee dies in a plane crash caused by terrorists. He then forces
his bosses to train him to exact revenge.
Gideon's
Gift
Tis
the seson to hear about Christmas Movies! "Gideon's
Gift" is a novel by Karen
Kingsbury that is set to be filmed with Christian
Slater and Elle
Fanning in the leads. Don't expect to see this one this Christmas
season since shooting doesn't begin till early February in Albuquerque,
New Mexico. In the film Slater is Big Earl Gibson, who has lost the only
two things precious to him, his wife and daughter. He has abandoned his
belief in God and is now lives on the street. Fanning plays Gideon, an
eight-year-old leukemia patient determined to reach the heart of this lonely
and hurting man.
Fans
of the BBC series
"Manchild" can
look forward to a U.S. version on the Showtime cable network. The pilot
will star Kevin Smith,
James Purefoy,
John Corbett, Paul
Hipp as four men knee-deep in midlife crises. Smith plays Paul,
the cynic of the group, a divorced man who loathes himself, his ex and
his ex's perfect new husband. Purefoy (who is wrapping production on its
second and final season of HBO's "Rome")
will play Joe, the leader of the circle. He frequents the hottest new clubs
and doesn't date anyone over 25.
Presidential
Couple Returns to "24"
Fans
might have thought to be done with the dysfunctional presidential couple
from last season's "24."
But Emmy-nominated Gregory
Itzin and Jean
Smart will return in the show's sixth season. Theformer President
Charles Logan and his emotionally challenged wife, Martha Logan will be
back in recurring roles. Logan's place in the Oval Office has been taken
this season by Wayne Palmer (D.B.
Woodside), the brother to former President David Palmer.
Lucas
Kills Indy 4
Screenwriter
Frank Darabont
says that the fourth Indiana Jones movie was ready to film two years ago,
until George Lucas didn't like his script. Darabont said: "That
was terrifically frustrating. I worked for over a year on that; I worked
very close with Steven Spielberg.
He was ecstatic with the result and was ready to shoot it two years ago.
He was very, very happy with the script and said it was the best draft
of anything since Raiders
of the Lost Ark. That's really high praise and gave me a real sense
of accomplishment, especially when you love the material you're working
on as much as I love the Indiana Jones films."
Then: "Lucas read it and said, 'Yeah,
I don't think so, I don't like it.' And then
he resets it to zero when Spielberg is ready to shoot it that coming year,
[which] is a real kick to the nuts. You can only waste so much time and
so many years of your life on experiences like that, you can only get so
emotionally invested and have the rug pulled out from under you before
you say enough of that."
