70. Farewell, Mr. Good Brothers Long before
"Close Encounters of the Third Kind " there was a community of people who formed around the belief in UFOs. For most of them
this was more than just a phenomenon, and more of a religion.
And like most religions there were some reasonable people in the center and a great many odd folks on the frindges. This is a film about those frindges. These are not just the people who claimed to have seen UFOs, or claimed to be abductees.
Here we find those who built their own UFOs or built landing fields for them
in the middle of the desert for them. Some of it seems far to engaged
to be taken seriously, but some of it is almost heroic in its committment to these folks.
It never points its finger and laughs, but always stares with an unblinking eye. It will be hard to find (though it does play on the Documentary Channel now and then), but you will be rewarded,
by seeing some of the usually unrealized odd and surprisingly heartwarming,
parts of humanity. And that is the truest form of serendipity.
