Visnjic, who starred as the title character in last week's USA
Network movie special 'Spartacus,'

Stamp rounds out the cast."

Who Is The Monster Here?
Wanda
Sykes has taken a role in "Monster-in-Law,"
a comedy with Jennifer Lopez
as a woman set to marry the perfect man. That is until she meets his mother,
the world's worst mother-in-law. Michael
Vartan plays the guy, and Jane
Fonda will be playing the mother-in-law. Sykes will be Ruby, the mother-in-law's
assistant. Director Robert
Luketic will be helming the New Line project.
American
Gothic Has Gary Cole Onboard
Gary
Cole has worked a lot, but no role was ever so sompletely his as that
of Sheriff Lucas Buck on TV’s “American
Gothic”. That may be why he has signed on to reprise that role
for “American Gothic : The Movie”. The film, a re-telling of the events
of the television series, has also signed original cast members Brenda
Bakke , Nick Searcy
and Jake Weber. It’s thought
that many of the other original players, including young Lucas
Black, who’s now too old to play the role of the child, Caleb, will
have to be replaced. Sam Raimi
is considering the film as a possible directing gig. “American Gothic”
was on the air from September 1995 to July 1996. Executive Prodced by Sam
Raimi and Robert G. Tapert
and created by Shaun Cassidy,
it was the disquieting story of a charming small-town Sheriff who is decidedly
more than he seem. It's mephestopholian texture grew its following, even
after the network axed following only one season.

  Starfleet
90210?
ESBN
(Empire Strikes Back Net) Sates: "We can confirm that the prequel that
Paramount is working on is indeed a Starfleet Academy storyline. They have
hired a writer that is currently putting that story together. No word yet
if it involves any of the known TOS characters but we do know that it is
the same prequel the Berman recently talked to Dreamwatch magazine about.
Let's remember that Kirk and Spock did not attend the Academy together
so hopefully they don't put the last nail in the coffin of that franchise
by changing the known Star Trek Universe. Rick Berman seems to remain aboard
but there will be new producers." Roddenberry must be laughing somewhere,
don't you think?
