Star
Wars TV May Have Lead Actor
28 year
old actor Matthew Newton
auditioned for the part of Anakin Skywalker in "
Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones ." Now Newton has been flown
to Skywalker Ranch to test for the lead role in the Star
Wars TV series. George
Lucas has reportedly checked on his availability to see if he
cab be free to join the cast of Star Wars to return to the small screen
in a show expected to follow the lives of all-new characters.
Joan
Fans Never Say Die
There
is already a site here.
After two seasons " Joan
of Arcadia " fans are not quick to let a show they see as uniquely
their own die a quiet death. CBS has
already been bombarded with E-mails, and Sony
has taken a barrage of phone and snail mail with the same idea. Chris
Ender, CBS entertainment spokesman said: "It
was one of the toughest programming decisions we have had to make in the
last couple of years because qualitatively, everyone here loved the show
and was proud of the show." We`ll see how
hard it really was, compared to what may come. You don`t cancel God without
looking over your shoulder.
Indy
4 News, Again
2/3 of
the way there! "Indiana Jones
4 " has met with the approval of George
Lucas and Steven Spielberg
. An earlier effort by Frank
Darabont didn`t fare as well as the latest Nathanson
version. Before Paramount can get
things going, however,
Harrison Ford has to give a thumbs up on the script, and he hasn`t
read it yet. The idea was to schedule "Indiana Jones 4" for a 2006 start,
but Spielberg is working on his Olympic
film , followed in January with a DreamWorks
film about Abraham Lincoln
and the Civil War , to star Liam
Neeson .
The
Crow
"
The Crow: Wicked Prayer " is set to premiere on June 3, 2005 at the
AMC Pacific Place Theatre in Seattle, Washington. It will have a one week
engagement there and then open to general admission audiences. DVD release
is July 19th.
Rambo
IV: Holy War
Nu Image/Millennium
Films is planning to start filming on Rambo
IV in Bulgaria in January 2006. Sylvester
Stallone has signed to begin writing the script for Rambo IV based
on an unpublished book that was optioned. Stallone says that in the new
plotline Rambo has been ``assimilated into
the tapestry of America.'' He is living with
his family in peace for the last fifteen years while still working for
the military. The Navajo-Indian former Green Beret and his family become
targets for an attack from white-supremacists, and Rambo must rescue his
10-year old daughter being held hostage. Nu Image/Millennium Films says,
``If No. 4 works, then you have a No. 5.''
Stallone will co-star in the project with a younger actor.
Asterix
Saves Disney Artists
In the
Animated
News Forum Kinoo says that " the studio
which did this movie hired the animators from Disney Studios Montreuil
who were fired after Disney decided to shut down the 2D studio.
" And that is how Astérix & Obelix made it back in the new big
screen presentation Asterix
And The Vikings. If you can speak French, you might enjoy
the trailer over at Allociné's
website.
