Hellboy
2 On Hold?
"The
sequel is not happening yet," Mike
Mignola told
Comics Continuum, "[director]
Guillermo
[del Toro] and I sat down six months ago and came up with an original
story for the sequel. And he`s been off trying to make a film Spain that`s
been delayed. Theoretically, while he was sitting over there, he`s written
the screenplay. He`s almost finished with it, and he hasn`t turned it into
the studio. Once he turns it into the studio, then we start talking about
the budget, and then we`ll know. We might know by the end of the year if
it`s going to happen. Hopefully, it`s going to happen, but it`s going to
come down to the budget. "
Dead
Live Anew
Every
year since the advent of home video, fan versions of films have edged to
the fore. A while back a re-edit of "
Star Wars: Episode 1 " was all the rage on the net. Now Dean Lachiusa
has re-edited " The Night
of the Living Dead " which is in the public domain. His "version" has
been dubbed " Night of the Living Dead:
Surviors Cut." Lachiusa added a new beginning
and several new elements including flashbacks to show more about Barbara
and Johnny, plus radio broadcasts to flesh out the story a bit more. The
film is posted in Real format and/or can be downloaded:

More about the project is available
here.
Barbie
In 3-D
Lions
Gate Family Entertainment and Mattel
plan to release a Barbie
movie, with 15 minutes of 3D content interspersed throughout the film,
on DVD on Sept. 20. The young viewers will be told when to put on their
3D glasses (4 pairs are included in the DVD). A non-3D version will be
available for rental markets. The film is called "
Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus."
Sirius
TV
Sirius
Radio has changed the face of car radio, and now Mel Karmazin
says plan on delivering digital video to automobiles. The founder said,
"We plan to put real-time TV in the back of
the car. . . . We`ll have new features like pause and replay. We have the
ability to get any kind of [digital] bits to the car like nobody else."
And you thought drivers were distracted by changing CDs?
Simpson
Movie Happening?
The show
has been going on forever, and almost as long there has been the rumor
of a feature film. Now, Nancy
Cartwright , the voice of Bart Simpson, was doing her one-woman show
` My Life as a Ten Year Old Boy`
in London. Asked about the plans unveiled at the Cannes film festival in
mid-May Nancy told The
BBC :
" You know what? We`ve just done the table
read for the `Simpsons` movie so although we`ve been promoting that we`re
going to do it, now we`re actually doing it and are in production. I`m
sure it won't take any less than a couple of years. I don`t know the name
of it and I can`t go into details about it and we`ll just have to see how
it goes, but I think it`s going to be great and the fans are going to dig
it."
